About the sound "OM"

"This syllable sets up a deeply resonant vibration in the larynx, and this vibration is transmitted directly down into the lungs, where it gently "massages" the delicate alveoli and shakes loose mucus and debris. The vibrations travel up into the brain as well, where they massage the brain cells. This in turn stimulates all branches of the central nervous system. Due to its proximity to the vibrating larynx, the thyroid gland receives an especially strong stimulation, which enhances its secretions and balances metabolism. In the brain, the vibrations also lend direct stimulation to the pineal and pituitary glands, thereby balancing the entire endocrine system."
