Musical Thing

"We thought of life by analogy with a journey, a pilgrimage, which had a serious purpose at the end, and the thing was to get to that end, success or whatever it is, maybe heaven after you’re dead. But we missed the point the whole way along. It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing or to dance while the music was being played."

Alan Watts

Flower of Life

"Maggie said love was the flower of life and blossomed unexpectedly and without law, and must be plucked where it was found, and enjoyed for the brief hour of its duration."

D.H. Lawrence

Faz de Conta

"Faz de conta que sou abelha.
– Eu serei a flor mais bela.

– Faz de conta que sou cardo.
– Eu serei somente orvalho.

– Faz de conta que sou potro.
– Eu serei sombra em agosto.

– Faz de conta que sou choupo.
– Eu serei pássaro louco, pássaro voando
e voando sobre ti vezes sem conta.

– Faz de conta, faz de conta."

The Only Possession

"You will see many things tonight, some pleasant and some not so pleasant. My advice to you is to assume a comfortable position, focus on your breathing, and try to be still.
Proceed through the next eight hours with an open heart, an open mind, like a child does, with no attachment whatsoever to what you witness, good or bad. You will most likely feel some disturbing emotions, visions, and thoughts; don't push them away. Let them pass by, simply observing without connecting any meaning.
You also may experience some beautiful sensations and imagery. The same principle applies to these. Do not reach for them or attach any significance. Simply notice. Envision yourself as a young child, sitting on the bank of a river, watching as leaves, branches, flowers, insects, and maybe some fish float and swim past you. The child simply watches, without injecting any ego or inner assessment into these passer-by.

Stay present with all that you experience. Focus on your breathing in times of difficulty, and try not to resist or cling to what you are about to see. You are everything. You are nothing. In this way, you can fully experience Grandma and go deeper with her."

(...)

"Put the strongest man or woman out in the cold for a few moments, and they become overwhelmed with an urge to tense up, as though that will somehow keep the cold out. But if you can do the unthinkable and let the sensation flow into and through you - observing it without emotion or fear, letting it pass - your reality is transformed."

As he speaks, the bitting cold that is assaulting me from every angle begins to transform into something different.
Information.
A natural self-scanning mechanism begins, showing me where I'm blocked, where I need to let go.

"Your body knows what it needs to maintain equilibrium. Don't let your mind get in the way."

(...)

Just keep focusing on your breath. The breath is the only possession that we need in life.

Patience and Prolonged Practice are the only keys

"...patience and practice are the keys to success and in the meantime you should focus on the journey, not the goal."

"Sexual potency is absolutely indispensable to spiritual progress, for sexual energy is the key for making all the breakthroughs on the spiritual path. A sexually weak or impotent person has no hope whatsoever of reaching the higher stages of spiritual development, because he can not muster sufficient energy. He or she must first fully restore sexual vitality through detoxification, proper nutrition, breathing and exercise, and well-regulated sexual intercourse, then use this enhanced sexual potency as bottomless battery of power to propel the spirit to ever-higher realms of experience on the wings of pure vitality."

"During love making, partners may intersect their Microcosmic Orbits by touching tongues, and if the man retains his semen, they may inter circulate their energies internally. This completes de circuit of "dual cultivation", causing Yin and Yang energies from man and woman to flow from one into the other and back again, with their linked genitals forming the lower terminals and linked tongues forming the upper terminals of their enhanced Microcosmic Orbits."

"Just try to keep the mind as light and empty as possible, while leisurely exploring the inner channels for energy, and above don't worry about "results". It requires many words to describe this, but in actual practice it all occurs spontaneously, nonverbally, and totally intuitively. Patience and prolonged practice are the only keys that can open the gates of the Microcosmic Orbit."

"Shut off the three external treasures of hearing, sight and speech in order to cultivate the three internal treasures of essence, energy and spirit."

"True cosmic wisdom transcends all arbitrary human knowledge with direct, overwhelming awareness of Tao. This awareness and wisdom can be achieved only by transmutting ordinary spirit into cosmic spirit, a long and difficult process in which the adept gradually peels away layer upon layer of illusion and sheds ordinary knowledge until he uncovers the precious pearl of original spirit."

"As a child grows older and becomes socialized, this shining pearl gets buried ever deeper in the mental morass of education, obscured by passion and desire, dulled by the dust of illusion, and drowned in the murky waters of discursive thought. It is our most precious possession and our most uniquely human attribute, but due to our infatuation with the external physical world and its passing phenomena, most people go through life without ever realizing its existence, though everyone gets a glimpse of it at the moment of death.
The purpose of meditation is to peel away the layers of illusion, passion and conceptual thought so that the precious pearl of original spirit can fill our consciousness with the lustrous light of cosmic insight. The precious pearl of original spirit is our one and only immortal link to the universe. It is the immortal spiritual seed that is released from the flesh at death and replanted in the womb when new life is conceived."

"The generative force changes into vitality when the body is still; vitality changes into spirit when the heart is unstirred; and spirit returns to nothingness because of immutable thought."

"The lower Elixir Field under the navel is where generative force (essence) is sublimated into vitality (energy); the middle Elixir Field in the solar plexus is where vitality is sublimated into spirit; and the upper Elixir Field in the brain is where the spirit is sublimated for its flight into space."

"Let the Void be your cauldron; let Nature be your furnace; for your primary ingredient, take stillness;   for your reagent, use quietude; for mercury, take your vital essence; for lead, use your vital energy; for water, use restraint; for fire, take meditation."

The True and Lasting Pleasure

"Rainbow Girl: It is generally assumed that a man gains great pleasure from ejaculation. But when he learns the Tao of Yin and Yang, he will ejaculate less and less. Will this not diminish his pleasure as well?
Peng Tze: Not at all! After ejaculating, a man feels tired, his ears buzz, his eyes get heavy, and he longs for sleep. He is thirsty and his limbs feel weak and stiff. By ejaculating, he enjoys a brief moment of sensation but suffers long hours of weariness as a result. This is no true pleasure! However if a man regulates his ejaculations to an absolute minimum and retains his semen, his body will grow strong, his mind will be clear and his vision and hearing will improve. While the man must occasionally deny himself the fleeting sensation of ejaculation, his love for his woman will greatly increase. He will feel as if he could never get enough of her. Is that not the true and lasting pleasure of sex?"

The Secrets of the Jade Bedroom

"...it is the hills and valleys of the woman that first attract the man's attention, while she is most curious about the size and firepower of his weapons. Who will advance and who will retreat? In bed as in war it is just as important to know yourself as it is to know your opponent."

"The Spirit of the Valley is
inexhaustible...
Draw on it as much as you will, it never runs
dry."
